yesterday was one of those days where you feel like your life has taken off and it can't go any higher, but it can anyway, and i was just so insanely happy on the inside that i could have just burst with a thousand gazillion thank-yous and fly away and die. everyone came! everyone important at least. and i was so glad that i didn't let my insecurities take over and prevent me from inviting them because, well, their responses meant everything to me ahhh i can't forget yesterday 10/10/08 not ever because i just can't

yesterday was a good day because

it rained
i waved to 3 people!!
og table was revived!
econs break was spent in comfortable companionship silence
i finally got down to writing thank-you notes
did ok for grades considering..
caught up with classmates

the bad parts

i lost my phone!
fell asleep in practically every lesson
got scolded by the dentist for dirty teeth

all in all, the pros outweigh the cons. and now i gotta snap out of this slacking mode and file, um, stuff.

ahhhh my eyes are closed AGAIN in the class photo! and my ears really stick out rather "mischievously" too, as a certain teacher once said. hate taking photos in general. SEA hist was bad but given constraints i'm just grateful that i had stuff to write. v grateful to jon for helping me out. math was .... and somehow i'm still functioning on 2 hours of sleep and i want to go and cycle

i just had a 2 hour phone conversation with jon and a 1 hour phone conversation with bp!!! its now twelve thirty aaahh i'm such a time-wasting guzzler. lunch was at kfc with simin, xin ning, adrian and charmaine and we talked about funny dreams we have about school, which was rare but great. national day was very awesome and i shant narrate too much it was just the awesome epitome of awesomeness and probably the last awesome national day i will ever have. I really don't want to blog about art anymore (it's just too tiring). Nowadays I find myself trying to do stuff that will make me happy, even if it's just a simple thing like an sms or lunch with a friend or 3 hour phone conversations.

i'm starting to like my schedule on monday. previously, mondays for me was: end at 11.30, happily scoot along and catch the bus and go home, eat lunch, watch TV, linger on msn and then feel like crap for not doing anything until nightime. Today was different. I actually stayed back with the class for econs, spent lunch socializing instead of being cooped up at home, went to library and chatted some more! and i also managed to do some of math tutorial too. Then went for math remedial and then all of us zomg bomb dunno how to do vectors and we helped each other out. it was the quiet sort of nice.
and i just picked up my mom and bro from the airport. It was kinda embarassing cause my mom was shouting "IAN!" from across the arrival hall but i didnt care cause she was gone for a fricking week and a half and tts very long to me. i kinda blurted out that i failed math but she handled it like a mother did and told me to try harder and that math remedial was good lol. and my brother bought me a disectable turtle pencil box, much like the lion and sheep pencil boxes that my classmates already own. I would bring it to school if it weren't so gay-looking.

(In order) Over the weekend I

went for GP remedial
redid my ez link card
got a haircut
watched TV on the internet
watched spiderman 2 zomg
watched pushing daisies
had a 2 half hour phone conversations with 2 friends
bought 4 ring files
bought a belated present

and i have calculated. Since the CTs have ended, i have watched a total of 21 hours worth of TV!! That's almost a frigging day. Yikes im going to hell for this.

went out yesterday with some of the class to the bukit timah area, where we had macs and then island creamery. was rly fun just talking and yakking and it was my first time at island creamery too so it was quite an eye opener. quite fun la, but then i lost my ez link card after that which was rly inconvenient

i did not check my email yesterday so i didnt know there was an art room clean up which was ARGH cause i could have done it today but ended up having to do clean up shifts tomorrow. o well. Went to help jon out at the lit week room for a bit which was quite fun, and returned my overdue library books which cost over seven bucks in fines argh ok lesson learnt. Later took the train with Jon and met Benoi in Orchard, where we had our Ajisen Ramen at 3pm in the day. Then Jon insisted on going to Pull and Bear and we basically just waited while he tried on different tops and we told him whether it looked nice or not. Ditto for havanas slippers and nike shoes. Eventually we established that when people ask for your opinion, they basically want some reaffirmation of their own opinions and so... yeah. but very fun outing though and a nice break too.

ok i shall go watch "how i met your mother" on sidereel and then feel guilty but not do anything about it. its rly nice!

finally another post, one day before the common test too. Over this month i've realized:

that i need my family more than anything else in the world
that nervous breakdowns are, um a form of release
time passes tooooo fast
that i shouldn't have taken art
that no one will care unless u work hard and prove yourself!!

and .. ahhh i forgot nevermind

I need to thank some people but i'm by nature horrible at articulating emotions so the following prose is gonna sound really awkward and asdf-arrghhh:

i got some presents from ppl today (heh) which were really very NICE, for the lack of a better word. Thanks Simin, for the blue journal with the 3D white lettering which was really cool and although you were worried that the white foamy things might drop off, i don't care coz its the thought and effort put in that matters! It's original and can see the effort in cutting and pasting the latterings which u really cannot purchase in bookshops in Singapre or anywhere in fact so its very personal and i really liked it :p
Oh and thanks priscilla for the funny card which was super long but very down-to-earth and um heartfelt (?) and encouraging and i really appreciated it! You practically remembered everything we usually talk about during econs break! And the card doesn't need to be handmade la its the content that matters..Yeah and i always look forward to econs breaks haha
And hong cheng for the really random cheesecake you bought for me although you probably wont read this and im really apologetic for not getting you anything for your birthday ack
And thanks jon and benoi for keeping me company today although i sounded kinda desperate for insisting to hang out at orchard road. was fun; went to topman and helped benoi pick out a semi-formal vest to wear to r-project. Spent half an hour deciding for him between a 34 or 36 size, but still kinda fun being a clothesadvisor and everything. went to epicentre to help jon choose between an ipod and itouch and eventually didn't buy anything. Settled at starbucks and people-watched and complained about how cold it was. Did some catching up too and talked about school, grades, gossip girl, teachers and life in general D:
And bp for always being there when i call u to complain about people and life and art and teachers and everythingggg; I really enjoy those phone therapy sessions which can last for 3hours < and more.

Its been a quiet pre-birthday day but its still better than most. watching august rush with family at home later.
tmw's gonna be my real birthday and its gonna suck cause i have remedial and have to stay home and do art but for now i shall just be contented...and stone.

Edit: (25th May)

And thanks Lorraine for the chocolate cake(!) and for running around the sch trying to look for me, and Ding Fang, Jia En, Wei Yuan, Cliff, Bennett, Xin Ning, John + Fang Jin + anyone i forgot!

Saturday morning was spent on a hike. Just some friends, water and a railway track to follow. Great fun. We started off at King Albert Park's MacDonalds and followed the railway track there, walking through deserted grass plains, backyards of abandoned buildings, above canals and under highways and eventually reaching civilization in the form of Jurong East MRT Station. Therapeutic, eye-feasting, loads of greeeen. And i discovered places in Singapore that I never knew before! All saturdays should be spent like this.

I rewatched Garden State again and then went to watch Little Miss Sunshine. I think Little Miss Sunshine was great; really heartwarming in a dysfunctional and fractured but yet very endearing way. Very funny too.

Mother's Day today and I haven't done anything D: My father brought us to watch the Broadway Beng matinee, but it was mostly in Hokkien and I didn't get most of the jokes but you could sort of guess from all the aunties laughing.

i am slacking~
